Rachel has a track record in both the corporate world and then as an entrepreneur, co-founding two business start-ups, firstly in manufacturing, and then more latterly launching a search, selection and leadership consultancy. This went from start up to £multi-million national market leader in its specialist sector before Rachel successfully exited eight years later. Since then she has become one of Yorkshire's most active Angel Investors, investing well into seven figures in businesses across a range of sectors including; technology, education, medical devices, food manufacturing, human capital and social enterprises.
Rachel has also developed a portfolio of Non-Executive roles. She is Chairman or Non-Executive Director for a number of the businesses she has invested in, as well as for other ambitious, high growth private companies. Her experience also spans broader Non-Executive roles as a charity Trustee and Chair, and she is currently Deputy Chair of the Board at a University where she also chairs the Resources and Remuneration Committees. Her current portfolio of roles cover organisations employing almost 2,000 people. She is passionate about enterprise and job creation, as well as helping to grow businesses and support people and organisations to reach their full potential. In 2018 she was selected as one of Grant Thornton's national 100 'Faces of a Vibrant Economy'.
